Idea - Electronic Newsletter

At the January Board meeting, the idea of changing to an electronic or emailed newsletter was discussed.  This would save the club mailing costs.  The newsletter would also be posted on the site.  The Board would like your feedback.

Idea - Winter Plowing

At the January Board meeting the idea of plowing the road to the second gate was discussed.  Many of our members would use the club in the winter, hiking back with sleds and snowshoes.  Some of our younger members have asked to have a "Day with Dad" by hiking back to the club house, cook hot dogs and roast marshmallows in in the fireplace for lunch.  The thinking is to plow out the road so that members can safely park inside the first gate.

Idea - Payments Due On Your B-day

At the January Board meeting an idea was discussed about having dues be due the month of your birthday.  Some thoughts were discussed:

  • our current dues are due in the holiday season when cash flow is tight
  • with the club having hundreds of members there is a huge crowd in January
  • the trend is that people are now paying progresivley later each year.  In the past, most members would be paid up in December.  Today, many members are not paid up until February
  • can people pay for multiple years?

The thinking for this is that we have people pay their dues the month of their birthday.  Also a charge or late fee of $25 per month would be applied you were late.  Proposed starting time for this program would be the year 2011.

Trial Gate Policy (May until Sept)

On the May Member's Meeting a trial gate policy was voted upon.  The policy is to leave the 1st gate on Back River Rd unlocked but closed when you enter the range.  Close/lock the padlock to the chain and spin the numbers on the lock so the combo is not showing.  Leave the second gate open.  Close/lock the padlock to the chain and spin the numbers on the lock so the combo is not showing.  The last person close and lock all gates when they leave.

The trial period is from May to September.  If for some reason this is not working, the Board will make an announcement, the web site will be updated and we'll go back to locking both gates at all times.

How is this working?  Send your feedback to PFGCBoard@pfgc.org
